Experience
I graduate from Columbia University, and hold both New Jersey and New York (7-12) Teaching Certification. I used to be an actuary and have a very deep understanding in Mathematics. I have years of experience teaching in Middle/High School Mathematics and completed my student teaching in Stuyvesant High School (the Best public high in NYC). In addition, I hold certification of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages. I started working as a professional tutor from college, tutoring at least 100 students in SAT (one, two), ACT, SSAT/ISEE, ACCUPLACER, PSAT, AP and all Math Subjects from 6th grade through college with excellent results. I give clear, methodical instructions and use a wide variety of strategies and material (including the worksheets I created by myself) to help students develop a strong math foundation, stay ahead in the process and most important, develop critical thinking skill and eventually gain confidence in Math. I keep recording and analyzing students’ data to evaluate their academic achievements, identify their learning needs and set achievable goals for them. I look forward to working with you!
